Texture Table Talk- with Tippi Shorter

Our new new web series gives stylists, models, editors a platform to speak about their experiences with representation and diversity in the beauty industry. We are taking charge on the discussion of diversity in the media with the introduction of Texture Table Talk,series inspired by Jada Pinkett Smith\ wildly popular web series \Red Table Talk\where she discusses a wide variety of topics in a talk show format.

Hosted by MIZANI Artist and Artistic Director Tippi Shorter, each feature episode will be tackling different subjects that touch on the featured interviewee’s personal experiences, accomplishments and struggles within their industries. Themes range from the challenges of being a model with natural hair to the inclusivity of Texture experts behind the scenes of shoots, sets and magazines.

Diversity in the media has become a much-discussed topic worldwide, with models, stylists, editors and more highlighting the lack of people of color both in and behind the chair.

While representation is undoubtedly growing, there is still much room for improvement and MIZANI seeks to bring the conversations surrounding this movement to the forefront for the public to hear.
